What is your role at ABM?
Regional Sales Manager
What geographical areas do you cover?
TX, LA, AR, MS, OK and TN
What is your education/business background?
I graduated from Arkansas State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business with an emphasis in Farm Management. From there, I received two master’s degrees:
- I received my first master’s degree in 2013 from Colorado University – Master of Agriculture in Integrated Resource Management.
- I received my second master’s degree from the University of Tennessee in 2017 – Master of Science in Business Administration and an emphasis in Financial Services.
Before joining ABM, I worked in the wholesale seed business, foliar fertilizer sales and as an Agricultural Extension Agent for the University of Tennessee.
How did you get into this line of work?
Agriculture has always been in my roots. Growing up, I always wanted to farm – it was (and still is) one of my greatest passions. During college, I completed work as a Tech Assistant – performing plot work and research – and then decided to go into the seed business. While working, I always had the desire to do more and be the best that I could be – which is why I pursued higher education. I feel very blessed – as I grew up in a small town in Tennessee, but wanted to see the country and work in Ag – and I am able to do just that with ABM.
One of my ultimate goals is to try to do better for the world and have a bigger and better impact on growing food efficiently.
Who is someone that has been a mentor and/or influence on your life?
For one, my grandfather on my dad’s side. He was a well-known farmer and a 3x war veteran for the Air Force. The one thing I always think of when asked about my grandfather is how he was such a hard worker, tough, and still seemed to always have fun. He instilled these same values into me – and I am very grateful for that. My dad and stepdad were also very influential and supportive of me and taught me what it means to be a man.
What are you most passionate about within your job?
I enjoy the challenge and diversity of each day. My territory has a very diverse crop base – peanuts, cotton, soybeans, rice, peas, lentils, sugar cane, and vegetables – which helps to expand my knowledge and keep me busy. I also enjoy the people I get to work with – customers and coworkers, alike.
ABM is known for delivering leading edge technology to make the world a better place. I am proud to be apart of something great.
What are you passionate about, outside of work?
My family – and wife, Lauren. I also enjoy hunting, golfing and fishing.
How has ABM helped you in your career development?
ABM has provided me with the resources I need to excel in my position and increase the business footprint.
What are 3 words you would use to describe ABM?
- Industry Leaders
- Quality Products
- Innovators (based on the needs of the farmer)
What do you like most about working for ABM?
I like that I am continuously challenged to be the best that I can be and go out of my comfort zone, working with new people, traveling and providing solutions to problems and needs in the industry.
